I know I say it all the time...but I really LOVE this couple.

If you look up "laid back bride" in the Dictionary, Nicole's photo would be staring back at you. Seriously. This girl is so chill. Nicole came to me via a referral from my dear friend, Annie (who is insanely awesome herself, so I knew this was going to be fab!) & from our first meeting I was excited. She knew what she wanted for her big day & had a list of details that were important to her, but the rest she left up to us. The most important thing to Nicole was that she & Mike fully enjoy the day. And so that was our mission.

The couple selected the Japanese Garden at the Missouri Botanical Gardens to host their wedding ceremony. The surroundings are beautiful, but we wanted to jazz it up a bit & make the setting personalized for their celebration. So we created a backdrop by hanging colorful fabric strips anchored by two vintage ladders. It added the pop of color she hoped for and the occasional breezes added a bit of whimsy to the ceremony. The reception followed at the Schlafly Taproom. Just like the couple, the vibe of the reception was truly laid-back. The decor had a mix of vintage & modern touches amongst the feminine color palette. Going against the grain, they elected not to have a DJ or band rock out all night; instead, they chose a local singer/songwriter to play acoustic guitar - it was heavenly. Guests were treated to a casual cocktail hour, a delicious dinner, a dessert bar to write home about, & a cigar bar for a little late night relaxing. This wedding was pure magic & we were so happy to bring it all together!
